US Senate Candidate endorses Tom Brinkman for Congress
Friday, June 10th, 2005, Beavercreek, Ohio: Today John Mitchel, Republican candidate for the United States Senate endorsed Tom Brinkman for the 2nd District US House of Representatives seat vacated by Rob Portman. Eleven Republican candidates will be on the GOP ballot Tuesday, June 14th, and the winner will face off against the Democrat candidate on August 2nd.
Mitchel commented, "Although there are several good candidates to choose from, Tom Brinkman clearly stands out as the best for at least two reasons. First, I can't think of any public servant in Ohio or elsewhere who we can trust more than Tom Brinkman. Mr. Brinkman does what he says he will do, totally unafraid of adverse consequences from his party's leadership. There's a quality we sorely need in Washington. Second, and just as important, Tom has the best chance to beat a strong Democrat candidate, should they field one in the August 2nd special election. From my perspective, while some candidates went negative early and often, State Representative Brinkman started positive, stayed positive, and has remained focused on his pro-family, limited government message. Let's not kid ourselves, the Democrats last choice for an opponent on August 2nd would be Tom Brinkman. However, I ! want to make it clear that I do not live in the 2nd District, and will not have the opportunity to vote for Tom, but would encourage those that can to accomplish their due diligence, as I did at the Montgomery candidate forum on June 3rd, and then vote their conscience."
